Anarkalli Akarsha Jayatilaka (born July 12, 1987) is a Sri Lankan actress. She started her career at the age of nine starring in cinemascope movies and several TV dramas.Anarkali was born and raised in the capital city of Sri Lanka, Colombo. She is an only child of parents who were both in the film industry. Her ultimate ambition is to become an Ambassador for UNICEF.





Acting at the age of eight, representing Sri Lanka at Miss World in 2004, being the youngest actress in the history of Sinhalese cinema to win the Most Popular Actress award and the being the Public Relations Officer (PRO) to the Foreign Ministry at the age of 19 are achievements that she truly grateful for.




She is the new face of Sri Lankan modelling. She is the ever beautiful Anarkali Akarsha, the gorgeous beauty icon that everybody’s been talking about in all corners of Sri Lanka.




Anarkalli is a person who likes to smile, she likes babies, puppies, ice cream… she loves talking on the phone. 




She admire many people in life because there is something about them that she can relate to and aim to be - Princess Diana because she never lost her human touch, Audrey Hepburn because of what she gave to cinema, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga because she was a Sri Lankan woman who looked after two kids while she was in power and Mahatma Gandhi – if you could have that kind of wisdom and confidence yet be so down to earth and walk with the masses and have such a big following – that isquite an achievement. 




Some of her favorite past times includes speech writing, songwriting, designing clothes, western dancing and kandyan dancing. Her sporting interests are playing netball, basketball, cricket, croquet, bowling, pool and athletics. Her personal motto is “Always be a first-rate version of yourself instead of a second-rate version of somebody else”.
